Classroom Procedures

Entering Class

·        Come in. Sit at your desk, and determine what the opening activity for the day is. DO IT! 

Food & Drink

·        NO EATING! WATER ONLY! 

Come to Class Prepared

·        Read the syllabus for the full details of what you need for this class. I will try to warn you in advance for special books, etc., but I am old and sometimes forget. Expect the unexpected. 

Getting Out of Your Seat

·        You may sharpen your pencil; get a dictionary or thesauri; or other needed materials without asking permission. If you use this as an opportunity to visit, the freedom will be curtailed. Also, don’t interrupt me if I am speaking.

Class Discussion

·        When we have class discussion, please be respectful of other students, and me. This means, let the other person finish speaking, and then say your piece.

·        Disagree with opinions, not people.

·        These are discussions, not arguments. And, even if they were, the LOUDEST PERSON is not the winner.
