Grades

The following scale is how your grade will be determined for this class. I will do my best to post your current grade, or give you individual grade sheets on a regular basis.

Homework & Classwork = 20%

Tests = 20%

Projects = 20%

Portfolio & Journals = 30%

Use of Class Time = 10%

The grade scale for tests will be  prominently displayed on each test. Projects and your class portfolio will be graded according to the appropriate scoring guide, which you will have at the beginning of the project.

Your use of class time grade is determined by the following criteria:

Timeliness - Do you come to class on time? Do you hand in work on time?

Attendance - Are you in class?

Effectiveness of participation - Do you add positive comments, questions, or effort to the class community?

Your quarter and semester grades will follow the school guidelines:

90% & above = A

80 to 89%    = B

70 to 79%    = C

60 to 69%    = D
